This bread is really good! I grew up in Germany and the only think I still missed, so far, was original German bread. Not anymore! The brotbox bread is vey fresh, crispy and flavorful, just like some bread I remember from over 20 years ago. I did not like all of the brotbox breads the same, but overall it's really good. The loafs are especially good. I already buy one of the best breads in town, like whole foods has some really good fresh breads and Trader Joe's also has some good french breads, which have good ingredients. But I know, not everyone has this stores available. So brotbox is a good way to buy amazing bread. I sometimes bake my own bread, which is great too.
I didn't like the UPS shipping. They postponed me two times and I was afraid it will affect the bread, being in transit for so long. I contacted brotbox and they reassured me that the bread will be fine and in case it won't come at all they already offered to work with me. The bread arrived after about a week and it seamed fine. I liked their quick response and their explanation of the shipping process. The dry ice was gone, but the bread still felt cold.
I may not order the pretzels and the pretzel bread again. Sure healthier, but not as good as the Aldi ones at German week. But like I said, very good bread, I like that finally somebody had the idea to come up with German bread. A little pricey though, but when it comes to food I want the real stuff.

I followed the recommended directions, let it sit for a little while, cut off a couple of pieces while it was still warm, buttered them, and they were delicious.

We're very happy with the breads and Brötchen especially as a German living in the US. Shipping was also very quick which we love. Our only issues are with the packaging itself. The insulation bag had come open inside the box because it wasn't sealed well which is not good with frozen foods and the big box only had one piece of tape on the seams which made the box pop open slightly. Thankfully nothing had fallen out. However you should do better in the packaging.
