Tad B.
Das einstigste Brot das wie deutsches Roggenmischbrot schmeckt!
Agnesa B.
We loved it I just wish the bread was a little larger.
Pamela L.
Cut in half after baking to freeze. Freeze’s well. Keeps well for a few days after baking
Marc B.
Sent to my mom for mother's day (we're German) and she had called me every single day since then, sometimes 3 times a day telling me how good the brot is. Lol I'll never send her anything but bread lololol
Frank K.
Bread was wonderful. Taste just like when I lived in Germany.
Julie F.
I love this bread and I will continue to purchase four loaves every two months or so, I bake it, slice it and freeze it in portions, so I always have fresh German Crusty Rye Bread!
Beate E.
Everything tastes fresh, delicious, authentic, and is so easy to prepare.
Edith B.
Tastes very good but crust quite hard to chew. Also bread is hard to slice with only a bread knife.
Wendy W.
So delicious! Easy, hearty.
Belinda F.
Wonderful taste and texture. Just like it’s from a German bakery!
Melody H.
I have tried many othercompanies , but this one is the closest that you can get to a hearty rustic dark German Bread. Great Taste!!!
Mariona D.
Took me back to my childhood in Germany! Thank you for this wonderful bread. I will be back ordering more! ❤️❤️❤️
Karen R.
Very dense and crusty - just like back home
Jacquelyn B.
It's so good! It reminds of the bread we used to get when my dad was stationed in Northern Germany in the '60s, and Momma would shop in the local stores. Makes the best cheese toast, too!
Heidrun S.
It’s a bread with wonderful texture and great crust.
Healthy and filling, it keeps me energized and active without the urge to snack for many hours.
I would have rated it a 10, if it had an oblong, instead of a round shape. It’s hard to slice when it’s freshly baked and the slices would be more uniform if it were oblong.
Dawn O.
Bread was good but the delivery could have been better. By the time it got here all of the ice packets melted and everything was wet. Invest in mailing coolers
Michael K.
While the bread is great, the shipment ended up being completely defrosted. Therefore I ended up with too much bread to eat. Very disappointed
Barbara S.
That rye crust bread is so good and after it's baked it taste like fresh from the bakery. It reminds me of home(germany).
Marc B.
Love my brot!!! I feel like I'm home in Munich!! Great product, showed up fast. I couldn't be happier!
Gail B.
This one is tasty but a little too sweet - I think I was looking for something more like black bread. Still tasty though!!!
Norris C.
Excellent Bread!!
Penny C.
Wonderful, crisp crust and beautiful soft center.
Esther G.
Germany all over again! This is our go to bread when we have family over for brunch! They love it! Just add butter to enjoy or you can toast it as well. Delicious!
Gerald C.
This is the only original German rye bread that we have been able to find in the USA. It tastes great when still warm from the oven and when toasted. It lasts for over a week without getting moldy or drying out when kept covered in aluminum foil.
Lola P.
Does remind me of German rye love it with mounds of butter
Monika S.
Of course German’s we love our bread, and if you don’t live in Germany, you miss our German Bread the bread from the bread box tastes just like bread in Germany and of course, I love it
Ulla F.
This is a very good Rye bread, the texture is great for all toppings. Thanks!
Fredrick C.
well it has been 30 years since we left Germany and this was one of my best time when we baked our first rolls. They are better than I ever thought they would be
Ursula F.
tough to cut into slices it crumbles.
Anne M.
I lived in Germany for 12 years and missed their bread. Your brotchen and German pretzels taste fantastic. The other breads I haven’t tried yet. I will definitely keep ordering from you. Thanks for making such wonderful breads.
Evelyne B.
Almost too dense for our taste, but tasty none the less.
Kimberly J.
Super tasty! I immediately enjoyed it with egg salad for lunch.
Linda B.
This bread is delicious. I am so pleased with my order. I still have one more to try but will definitely be ordering again.
Julie F.
I am a steady customer for my authentic German bread, and I will continue to order it as long as it is available, A+++
Bee L.
Love the moisture and heaviness of this bread. Tastes great fresh and baked after it has been frozen.
David T.
Great crust, moist crumb, deep rye flavor.
Dawn D.
Breads & pretzels were very tasty- quick shipping- excellent customer service with several emails advising of order progress !
Diana T.
I really enjoyed the the taste of this bread. Like in Germany. Thank you that you are here.
Raymond F.
We spent many months in Vienna, Austria, over the past several decades.
Among the many delights was the bread, baked daily and on the shelves and out the door the same day.
There is no commercial source or equivalent bakery in our little city.
The chance to get bread and rolls like those we enjoyed every day is a godsend.
It's marvelous that your bread and rolls can be eaten with butter or other topping and bring a smile to our faces.
Heinz M.
Easy to bake and tastes great. Reminds me of my travel in Germany.
Katherine G.
Another win from a Brotbox.
Rye bread tasty, dense and delicious!
We thoroughly enjoyed all our pics!
Christin G.
Love it...its what I grew up on.
Herta B.
So good reminds me of my homeland.
Wendy W.
So delicious! No blood sugar change. (Type 2) I made a Ruben casserole with this bread. So good!
Joseph H.
This is the long sought after bread my mother in law from Poland used to get until the Polish deli in South jersey, who imported it from a polish bakery in Brooklyn, closed over a decade ago. I searched off and on in the local area and then online sources but gave up until a dinner party where I encountered this bread. It was perfect . Thus was confirmed when aforementioned Mother in law made the loaf and complained she ate too much of it in one day. So yes this was right on target.
Karen H.
Loaf is top of picture.
Flavor was fantastic
Ronald M.
Amazingly good and tasty bread with a nice crunchy crust. Just like I remember when I grew up in Bavaria. Definitely worth it!
Jutta W.
This bread is so delicious and flavorful. My husband loves the crust when it is fresh out of the oven but still enjoys the flavor and texture the following days.
Jeff S.
Great bread highly recommended!!
Martinho C.
Delicious, will buy again!
Anna B.
Excellent taste and texture, especially if you are a fan if denser breads as I am. Toasts up nicely. Made for some excellent pastrami sandwiches!!!
Trudy E.
This bread tastes just like you get it in Germany: very crusty and a full hearty taste with every bite. So happy I found this online!
Richard F.
I had been looking for sourdough rye bread for a long time, it combines the best of low glycemic and low gluten, the downside is I ate an entire loaf within 24 hours! Twice! Good stuff!
Barbara S.
I love the texture and flavor just like in Germany.
Harry A.
My Wife German and all of your breads are a favorite to us .
Debra H.
I love this rye bread. The only thing missing to bring back memories of childhood are caraway seeds. That would put it over the top for me, yet I know not everyone likes them or can eat them. The crispy crust is delightful.
Alun H.
Fantastic. A dense bread that keeps well . It was wonderful with ham or cheese or just butter
PJ M.
Sorry. Not my idea of a great rye bread.
Timur F.
Great taste. Reminds me of Austria and Germany!
Dina E.
A little too brown-tasting for me. If you like very wheaty breads, you’ll like this.
Germaine D.
Easy ordering and bread sooooo delicious
Karin J.
The R-Bread is very good my Husband loves the Bread
Evi L. K.
Best bread, love it I will re-order soon! Happy to be able to have some great German bread here in the US.
Janet C.
Too hard a dry! Tasteless
Gabriele T.
Delicious bread, love the smell of memories from Germany. Fresh baked bread is the best. It’s nice and crusty.
Lee L.
Very tasty bread, brought me back to when I lived in Germany
Mary O.
Loved this loaf! Haven’t tried the other items yet.
Kathie S.
Love this bread and rolls. Tasted just like the ones we had in germany..
Gabriele H.
Our absolutely favorite bread. Love the crust and taste. Freezes and bakes great. Will definitely buy again and again. Great value for your money too!
Kels K.
We were eager to try Brot Box breads & we love rye bread. We were drawn to the baking with European grains, which is a great thing!
Unfortunately this type of rye wasn’t for us. No rye seeds. No real rye flavor. Very dense & tough like an overworked dough. Not a fan of the super hard hard crust. Sorry. Maybe a trip to Germany is in our future :-)
Janet Z.
Best bread since I left Germany in 1960!
Judith H.
It will go well with our German meats and sausages.
Linda C.
It was delicious. Ordered other things but haven’t had a chance to try them yet. Based on this bread and the Brotchen I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Vincent D.
Every baked product exceeded our expectations…and we’re use to bread from Brooklyn and the neighborhoods of Manhattan
Susan G.
I was hesitant that it wouldn't be as good as described. But the bread was great, easy to defrost and bake. Loved it
Patricia B.
Sent all as a gift to someone in another state so am waiting to hear, but so far they are happy.
Birgit S.
Gerlinde E.
I order the rye every time. The crust is unbelievable and the taste is just right.
I have 2 issues with the last order; 1. the goods were already defrosted at time of arrival!!
Of course, I immediately put everything in the freezer.
Note: the box did NOT sit outside since I was home at the time.
2. The rye is falling apart when I slice it!!?? Any ideas why?????
Judith Ann C.
Exceptionally wonderful bread….will order again!
Amy L.
First time I made this one it somehow didn’t defrost in the center even after the allotted time so when I baked it, it wasn’t hot all the way through. Had to cook it longer and then the crust got too crispy and hard. I think it was my error because all the other breads we’ve gotten from here are great. Trying it again.
Jeannie D.
the rye and the sourdough taste exactly the same
Sonnia H.
Taste is great. Just like from good old Germany. I love this Bread.
Steven G.
I felt like I was in heaven, now only the right wurst to it, I would feel like an Angel. lol
Kathleen K.
Best bread. Bakes perfectly
Julie F.
As always, this bread is authentic and a must have for me, A+++
Dorothy A.
Fantastic! I slathered slices with European butter and wrapped them in foil to reheat in ,y air fryer. The crust was crisp and chewy, and the bread itself had a wonderful silky texture. The only problem I had was slicing the bread after I baked it. I would definitely order it again.
Cynthia K.
Have a slice every morning!
Jean Christophe C.
This bread takes me back to my childhood and happy times spent in Bavaria. While Proust had his Madeleines, I have my schwarzbrot. Wie lecker. Danke!
Christa K.
good bread recommend it
Agatha B.
The rye bread is good. I'm a Dutch immigrant and the bread here is poor. This bread is like I'm used to back home.
Thank you
Cora Z.
Looking forward to diving into this loaf.
Cynthia B.
I followed the instructions, but the bread was cold in the middle and to be honest I didn't really like the taste of the rye bread. I love rye bread, I guess I am more partial to the lighter caraway ryes. I already talked to a rep. The next bread I bake (I bought several different kinds) I will thaw a lot longer and maybe a few degrees lower. The crust was too hard, I had to cut the bottom off because my knife had a hard time getting through it. It was not burnt, just too hard. She also suggested I put it in a paper bag and not eat it till the next day. I guess we will see how things go
Susan M.
It was a fight for the last bite. Yummy to dip in soup, fried egg sandwich toasted the the day, fabulous ham and havarit sandwiches for lunch. We didn't stop eating it until it was gone.
