Your Rye Crust Bread is fully baked.
1. Freeze upon arrival for optimal shelf life.
2. Defrost bread at room temperature for 120 mins. or in your refrigerator overnight.
3. Remove all packaging and place bread on a baking sheet.
4. Preheat conventional oven to 400˚F 1 and bake for 20-25 mins. on center oven rack.
5. Let bread cool down for 10 minutes and enjoy.
Quick & easy option: Slice and toast after thawing instead of baking.

The Brot Box ships from Indiana (IN) and Northern California (CA).
2. When do orders ship and how long does shipping take?
Orders ship Monday to Wednesday. Orders with 2- or 3-day-shipping, that are placed on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday will move into the next week’s shipping window. The transit time for delivery is 1-3 days depending on customers location.
3. Which carrier is used for shipping?
We use the ground service of FedEx, OnTrac and local carriers.
4. How do orders ship?
During hot summer season orders are shipped insulated (NOT FROZEN) with ice packs and insulated liner. We provide this service to extend the freshness and be prepared for any carrier delays.
5. How to handle products upon arrival?
Products should be checked and placed in the freezer upon arrival to keep the shelf life up to 6 months, since The Brot Box products don’t contain any preservatives.

The bread had big scores straight out of the package and once baked they were even bigger. It means I cannot cut neat slices as the crust will break away. It looks like the proofing or baking process was not ideal. I attached photos of before and after baking.
I followed instructions to bake the bread. But what is going wrong, when that situation on the picture happens?
WOW!!! CRAZY good German bread. 100% authentic - amazing crust (!) - crunchy deliciousness. There is NO difference between this and my favorite breads from bakeries back in Germany. This is a TREAT for all of us over here that miss our German breads.

the bread was delicious
The bread was burnt around an extremely wide crack. I tried to bake it anyway, but it became very hard to cut and it just crumbled when I did try to cut it and it was wet at the same time. I think it’s probably an unusual occurrence. I threw it away.
This was our first loaf that we baked. It was wonderful. Nothing like warm bread with butter and blackberry jam.
I lived in Germany for six years and this bread taste nothing like it, but the brooch was very good.

Dense and chewy. Good flavor, but the rye isn't as prominent. The only thing is that it's very crumbly. I ate it with cream cheese, radishes, and dill fronds. Delicious snack!

We love this bread. Bauern Brot crispy on the outside full of flavor on the inside. I have recommended it to all my family and friends , even gifted a couple of boxes. A crusty rye with a home made Cioppino. Heaven without the mess.
I love this bread and hope to never have to eat another one, the day after I finish baking it I cut it in half so I can get it through my home electric slicer, I then divide the slices into small portions and put them in freezer bags and in the freezer, this way I always have fresh bread and no waste! Thank you for bringing this bread to the US!
