I prefer baking for 14 minutes so that it is crispier. Even when I can in Germany, I cut the roll in half, scoop out the soft center and fill each half with eggs, or cheese or some other filling. It is so delicious this way.
In Wiemar at the train station cafe, they served the rolls with a little cheese on top. This was SO GOOD. I have a grated sharp cheese that I sometimes sprinkle on the top. Remember, like in Germany, these breads do not have preservatives so only bake want you want to eat that day. Although, cutting half makes them last longer.

I have been enjoying my Brotbox order each morning. It is so nice to have authentic German bread in my home in the US. I had company and served the pumpkin rolls with dinner. At the first bite, the comment was “This bread is really good!” A short time ago I was asked what I missed about living in Germany. There are many things, but bread was at the top of the list! The bread was excellent. I received this box as a gift and the box arrived 3 days late and the box was all banged up, one item in the box the plastic opened but the other breads looked ok.

I can't eat gluten in the US. Not even close. The tiniest amount makes me very sick. I get painful arthritis in all my joints and it can last for a month. Yet, I have eaten every one of these rolls. They are so good! And no symptoms. Nothing, none. I only tried this because I was in France last year and I was about to eat some pastries without getting sick. This blows my mind. You are doing something right!
